Joy Williams lives in Nashville, TN. She signed her first recording contract at 17, and released her first album, Joy Williams, in 2001. Her 2nd and 3rd albums, By Surprise and Genesis, were released in 2002 and 2005. Williams has received 11 Dove Award nominations, and in 2005, her song "Hide" won an ASCAP1 Christian music award for "Most Performed Song".
Joy and Nate Yetton (her husband) have a company called Sensibility Music, which is a recording, marketing, management and licensing firm. She has also joined John Paul White in the band The Civil Wars.
